About This Spot
Stepping into Gombak Hokkien Mee at Bandar Puteri is like settling into a familiar neighborhood nook where the evening rhythms gently unwind. The pace here is unhurried yet lively enough to feel the steady hum of locals gathering for a satisfying meal after a long day. You’ll notice the modest setting, with its warm, slightly bustling ambiance that invites you to savor not just the food, but the simple pleasure of shared moments around the table.
This is a place where the air carries the quiet intoxication of wok hei and the subtle sizzle of noodles tossed with care. The signature Hokkien Mee is a kind of culinary handshake—comforting and straightforward, with a drier texture that distinguishes it from the more familiar gravy-rich versions in the city. It’s the kind of dish that draws regulars back, especially in the quieter late hours when the crowd thins to familiar faces and you can appreciate the nuances of each bite.
The atmosphere here leans toward casual and unpretentious, where the free-flow chili and sambal station encourages a little playful experimentation — a brief pause to find your perfect flavor balance and perhaps a sparing request for more if the first round isn’t quite enough. Service moves at a natural rhythm, neither rushed nor sluggish, in tune with the gentle ebb of diners who seem as comfortable here as they would be at home.
Beyond noodles, the variety of offerings—from stir-fried seafood to fried chicken wings—adds layers to the experience without overshadowing the main event. Portions feel thoughtfully generous, inviting you to come hungry and leave content. While some dishes carry familiar flavors, others surprise with their hearty, straightforward approach, all rooted in unpretentious home-cooked style.
Whether you’re dropping by for a solo late-night eat or sharing a meal with friends, Gombak Hokkien Mee holds a quiet promise: a down-to-earth dining experience where the flavors are honest, ingredients fresh, and the atmosphere warmly communal.

I love the hokkien Mee here. But I don’t like the fried chicken. Nice to have free flow Sambal and chilies. Just don’t waste. Please take what you can finish and besides, you can take more if not enough. Service was okay. Waited roughly about 10 min. Not too bad since by the time we arrived, more customers started to come too. Seems popular place for late dinner. I would recommend anyone to have at least once here for their Hokkien Mee. Parking a bit hard to get here, but opposite streets have lots. But be careful since quite dark with the street lights not functioning. Lookout when crossing the road.

Hokkien Mee is less tasty with takeaway. I'm sure it would have tasted much better when dining in. So do they have good Hokkien Mee? 7/10. Do they have good spicy stir-fry squid? 7/10 Do they have good Nam Yue fried chicken wings? 7/10

Famous for their hokkien mee, but I find the taste a bit lacking. I like that it's the dry style though unlike the usual KL style with noticeable gravy. A little oilier than usual. Singapore bihun pretty good. Fried chicken wings with shrimp paste average. Grilled stingray is good and pretty big portion. Try to pair it with something plain though as it's quite flavourful. GrabPay and Touch n Go Wallet accepted.

Tried both dishes and they were quite good! Fresh ingredients and balanced flavors made for a pleasant meal. The loh mee can be better if used pork instead of chicken meat.

It is a good spot to have different kinds of fried noodles. I tried the claypot lao shu fen and grill fish. The taste is satisfying and the portion size given is fairly sufficient.
